Full Day Kindergarten

Northminster Learning Center is pleased to offer a full day kindergarten! The classroom is limited to 18 students and the curriculum is designed around the Illinois State standards for kindergarten while also providing hands-on engaged learning opportunities for students.

To register for kindergarten, families will need to submit a completed application form for each child along with a check for a non-refundable registration & curriculm fee of $150.00.

After School Care

Our after school program provides a place where children age 5-11 can come after school to socialize with friends and enjoy planned activities. Snacks, recreation, spiritual growth, learning centers and homework time are all important aspects of our program. Bus transportation is typically provided from Banner, Wilder-Waite and Ridgeview Elementary Schools. Care is offered until 5:30 p.m.

The Learning Center is a part of the Children’s Outreach Ministry at
Northminster Presbyterian Church. Our mission is to reach out with God’s love to meet
the needs of families. We do this through the development of Christ-centered childcare
programs that support and strengthen families, provide a warm and nurturing environment,
and reflect the vision and mission of Northminster. Our qualified teachers and staff have a
variety of educational backgrounds and experiences. All are carefully screened and interviewed
so that your child’s needs are met and safety assured.

After School Care

Bus transportation is typically provided from Banner, Wilder-Waite and Ridgeview Elementary Schools. Care is offered until 5:30 p.m.



Holiday Programs
During the school year holiday camp provides programming for children ages 5-11 on the days when Dunlap School District is not in session. Children who don’t usually participate in our After Care program are welcome to attend on these days. Special crafts, recreation and learning centers keep children active. Lunch/snacks are provided. Hours are 7:30 am. – 5:30 p.m.

Full-Day Kindergarten
Northminster Learning Center is pleased to offer a full day kindergarten! The classroom is limited to 18 students and the, curriculum is designed around the Illinois State standards for kindergarten while also providing hands-on engaged learning opportunities for students. The class is led by a fully certified teacher. Class meets from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Pre-care and after school care options are available.



Discovery Preschool
Our preschool is a unique program offering children opportunities to develop cognitive, spiritual, and social skills through a variety of research based practices. This program is for children who are between 3 and 5 years of age on September 1st.

Discovery preschool offers morning session from 8:30-11:00 a.m. or afternoon sessions from 12:15-2:45 pm. You may choose to have your child attend three days per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs) or four days per week (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs). For the 2007-2008 school year, tuition for the three day program will be $125 per month and $150 per month for the four day program.



Curiosity Corner
Curiosity Corner is for children between the ages of 24-36 months by September 1st. The children are offered the opportunity to develop cognitive, language, social, and motor skills while they play, learn and explore in a safe Christian environment. Children follow a structured daily routine that emphasizes independence, free-choice, and participation in group activities. Classes are limited to 14 children per classroom and are led by certified early childhood teachers.

Children must attend two days per week. Session choices are Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday. Class meets from 8:30-11:00 am. Tuition for the 2007-2008 program year is $130.00 per month.




Learning Center Staff
Our teaching staff consists of individuals with bachelor’s degrees in early child and elementary education. All are carefully screened and interviewed so that your child’s needs and safety are assured.
